Pakistan August 2016: Honda up 58% in market down 14%

The new Honda Civic has landed in Pakistan.

Sales of locally-assembled cars in Pakistan are down a harsh 14% year-on-year in August to 17.653 units, pulling the year-to-date tally down 8% to 136.433. Suzuki holds 51.1% of the Pakistani market despite sales down 30%, ahead of Toyota at 30.9% (-1%) and Honda at 18% (+59%) thanks to the arrival of the new Civic (+166%). The Toyota Corolla drops 8% but remains the most popular nameplate in the country with 25.9% share, distancing the Suzuki Mehran (+2%), Suzuki Bolan (-56%) and Ravi (-57%). The Suzuki Wagon R (+92%), Toyota Hilux (+61%), Honda Civic (+28%) and Toyota Fortuner (+44%) also post positive results this month.
