Argentina September 2016: Toyota Hilux back in charge

The Toyota Hilux is the best-selling vehicle in Argentina so far in 2016.

Argentinean new vehicle sales are up 7% year-on-year in September to 69.719 deliveries, lifting the year-to-date tally up 10% to 533.984 units. Volkswagen reclaims the #1 brands spot it holds year-to-date off Renault despite a 15% year-on-year drop to 10.442 and 15% vs. 10.327 and 14.8% (+22%) for the French manufacturer. Chevrolet gains 15% to 9.563 in third place, ahead of Ford (-3%), Toyota (+0.5%) and Fiat (-3%) all struggling. The next five best-sellers all beat the market and post double-digit gains: Peugeot (+27%), Citroen (+38%), Mercedes (+23%), Honda (+85%) and Nissan (+28%). Further down, Jeep takes off (+1492%) thanks to the Renegade, with BMW (+550%), Land Rover (+375%), Mini (+275%), Suzuki (+120%), Volvo (+76%) and Kia (+69%) also posting spectacular gains.

The Fiat Toro is up to #26 in Argentina in September. 

Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date off the VW Gol thanks to sales up 4% to 3.088, adding up to 24.970 year-to-date, up a whopping 21% on the same period in 2015. Below the VW Gol, the Renault Clio Mio rounds up the podium for the second straight month, gaining a splendid 32% on September 2015 and distancing the Toyota Etios (+5%), Ford Fiesta (-10%), Chevrolet Classic (-33%), Fiat Palio (-19%) and Renault Sandero, up a robust 16%. The Ford Ka continues to gear up at #16, the Renault Duster Oroch is up 3 spots on August to #21, while both the Fiat Toro (#26) and Mobi (#36) are up 9 ranks on last month.
