Turkey June 2016: Renault Fluence and Opel Astra advance
The Renault Fluence is the best-selling nameplate in Turkey so far in 2016.

The Turkish new car market is up 6% year-on-year in June to 91.540 registrations including light commercials, leading to a H1 2016 total up 1.5% to 438.617 units. In the brands charts, Volkswagen (+13%) reclaims the pole position it holds year-to-date with 12.406 sales ahead of Renault (+8%) at 12.004 and Ford (+17%) at 11.307. Fiat (+6%) remains in 4th place while Opel (+30%), Mercedes (+7%), Dacia (-4%), Hyundai (-8%) and Peugeot (+11%) all take advantage of a particularly weak month by Toyota (-32%). Further down, Skoda (+37%), Audi (+22%), Mitsubishi (+29%), Land Rover (+36%), Porsche (+100%), Jaguar (+500%) and Infiniti (+229%) impress.

Model-wise, the Renault Fluence resumes its domination at 4.350 sales, cementing its YTD lead at 19.436 units vs. 16.725 for the Fiat Egea, stuck at #3 in June with 3.797 deliveries including 514 hatchbacks. The Opel Astra leaps two spots on May to land at #2 with 3.871 sales (65% previous gen sedan, 35% new hatchback and 0.3% new station wagon). The Ford Focus shoots up to #5, the Mercedes C-Class is up 16 ranks to #14, the VW Tiguan up to #21 vs. #41 YTD and both the Hyundai Tucson (#31) and Renault Kadjar (#35) remain relatively discreet compared to elsewhere in Europe. A late newcomer in Turkey, the Kia Cerato takes off in June, up 91 spots on its inaugural month to land at #60. Finally, we welcome the Honda HR-V (#134), Fiat Fullback (#149) and SsangYong XLV (#228) in the Turkish sales charts in June.
