Oman January-April 2016: Toyota holds 53.9% market share

The Omani new light vehicle market falls 18% year-on-year over the first four months of 2016 to 52.595 units, and is still obliterated by Toyota at 53.9% share with deliveries down 21% to 28.330. Hyundai (+2%) overtakes Nissan (-27%) while Lexus (+10%) and Isuzu (+29%) pass Kia (-56%). Ford gains a beautiful 18% at #9 overall, with other carmakers in positive including GMC (+1%), Hino (+23%), Subaru (+3%), Jaguar (+70%) and Volvo (+440%). Model-wise, as expected it is a Toyota festival with the brand monopolising the Top 6. The Hilux (-31%), Land Cruiser Pickup (-7%) and Land Cruiser SW (-17%) all fit with in less than 200 sales and each account for more than 10% of the market, the three nameplates adding up to 31% share. Notice the Hyundai Sonata up 96% to end just outside the Top 10.
