Based on data shared by Central European market data specialists CE Auto, the Serbian new car market is up 29% year-on-year in September to 1.877 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 16% to 16.505 units. Separate data from the Serbian car importers association does not include Mercedes, Smart nor commercial vehicles, and therefore show smaller figures. All-in-all though, for the first time on BSCB we can share with you complete brand and models data for Serbia. Fiat leads the way this month with 380 sales and 20.2% share vs. 15.5% year-to-date, single-handedly lifted by an extremely strong performance by the locally assembled Fiat 500L holding a mammoth 13.5% share in September. Traditional leader Skoda is knocked down to 2nd place at 15.1% share vs. 16.8% year-to-date, however rumours have 33% of Skoda sales being re-exported to other nations in the European Union… Volkswagen, Dacia and Renault round up the Top 5, while over in the models ranking the Skoda Fabia, Octavia, Lada Niva and Fiat Ducato are the next best-sellers below the Fiat 500L.
