New car sales in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory located north-east of Australia, are stuck in negative territory with September down 8% year-on-year to 743 registrations, pulling the year-to-date total down 9% on 2014 to 6.812 units. Low-cost French-Romanian brand Dacia goes against the grain, more than doubling its sales year-on-year to land in first place in the brands ranking with 11.3% share, distancing Peugeot (-11%), Ford (-30%) and Nissan (+140%). Notice also Fiat up 4-fold on its September 2014 score to #9. The Dacia Duster has now been the best-selling vehicle in New Caledonia for three months in a row.
