Finland August 2015: Toyota Avensis back in the game

Toyota Avensis sales are up 129% in Finland thanks to the new model.

An excellent month for the Finnish new car market: up 12% year-on-year in August to 8.338 registrations, however the year-to-date total is still down 0.8% to 73.387 units. Brand-wise, Toyota jumps on top thanks to sales up 19% to 1.051 and 12.6% share vs. 932 and 11.2% (+9%) for Volkswagen, still leader year-to-date. Skoda (+1%), Ford (+38%) and Kia (+42%) follow, with Opel (+24%) and Nissan (+19%) also out-performing the market in the Top 10. Renault (+115%) and Fiat (+138%) also impress. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia keeps the lead with 5.6% share above the Toyota Yaris (+37%), VW Passat (+108%) and Toyota Avensis (+129%), the latter two taking off thanks to their new generation. The Kia Rio (+47%), Ford Mondeo (+137%), Kia Cee’d (+83%), Opel Corsa (+127%) and Skoda Fabia (+440%) also lodge spectacular gains.
