No improvement in sight for the new car sales in Uruguay, down 14% year-on-year in July to 3.816 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 29.033 units, down 5% on 2014. Suzuki remains the most popular choice in Uruguay with 584 sales and 15.3% above Volkswagen at 542 units and 14.2% while Chevrolet slips down further in third place at just 401 deliveries and 10.5%. Fiat stays at #4 with a market share two percentage points above its year-to-date level at 8.2%, Chery is back up 7 spots to #8 and 4.7%, leading the Chinese charge above BYD (#12), FAW (#15), Lifan (#16), Great Wall (#17) and Dongfeng (#18). Overall, Chinese manufacturers hold 15% of the Uruguayan market in July vs. 17.6% year-to-date.
