The Kenyan new vehicle market is very dynamic in this First Half of 2015, totalling 10.099 units, up an estimated 17% on 2014. Thanks to very strong sales of Medium & Heavy Commercials, Isuzu keeps the lead of the brands ranking so far in 2015 with a very impressive 28.8% market share above Toyota at 21.2%, Mitsubishi at 15.2% and Ford and Tata both at 6.2%. All other manufacturers are below 3% market share over the period. The Toyota Land Cruiser 70 remains the most popular nameplate in the country but with 872 sales its advantage over the #2, the Toyota Hilux, has dwindled down to just 20 units. The Ford Ranger shoots up to the third step of the podium while the Isuzu KB, Nissan Hardbody and Mitsubishi L200 make the Top 6 entirely composed of pick-up trucks – bar the Land Cruiser 70 not solely sold as pick-up in Kenya.
