Jordan 1st Quarter 2015: Hyundai Elantra and Accent in control

The Hyundai Elantra is the best-selling nameplate in Jordan so far this year.

For the first time in almost two years (since June 2013) I can give you official sales data in Jordan where 13.288 new light vehicles found a new home over the First Quarter of 2015. Korean manufacturers Hyundai (39.9% share) and Kia (21.5%) have a stranglehold on the Jordanian market, with Toyota rounding up the podium at 18.8% share. Mitsubishi, Nissan, Lexus and Peugeot follow. Model-wise, the Hyundai Elantra holds onto the pole position it has retained for the past couple of years, but this time to battle is tight with its smaller counterpart the Hyundai Accent at 1.480 sales vs. 1.456 over the period. The Toyota Hilux ranks third with 7.1% and is the only non-Korean nameplate inside the Top 10 along with the Land Cruiser at #6 and the Mitsubishi Lancer EX at #7.
