Turkish new light vehicle sales confirm their spectacular rebound in 2015: up another mammoth 72% year-on-year in April to 91.602 registrations and lifting the year-to-date total to 264.850 units after 4 months, a 57% surge on the same period in 2014. Despite sales up ‘just’ 50%, Volkswagen keeps the lead of the brands ranking with 14.4% share above Ford (+122%), Renault (+50%) and Fiat (+81%) while Toyota (+120%), Peugeot (+111%), Skoda (+160%), Seat (+143%) and Kia (+102%) all more than double their sales year-on-year. Jeep for its part is up 5-fold (+439%)…
Peugeot 301 and Citroen C-Elysée
In the models ranking, after slumping to #3 in March the Fiat Linea reclaims the pole position it holds year-to-date with 4.398 sales and 4.8% share above the Renault Clio, also assembled locally, at 4.074 units and 4.4%. The Renault Fluence is up two spots to #3, the Toyota Corolla – leader in March – is down to a still impressive 4th spot and the Fiat Doblo leads commercial vehicles at #5. Further down, notice the Opel Astra jumping 7 ranks to #7, the VW Passat back up to #8, the Nissan Qashqai up to #14 and both the Citroen C-Elysée (#18) and Peugeot 301 (#22) fitting inside the Turkish Top 25 this month.
