Norway April 2015: VW Golf stuck at all-time high levels

The Norwegian new car market is up 5.5% year-on-year in April to 12.782 registrations, however the year-to-date total is still in negative at -0.9% and 48.149 deliveries. Boosted by a Golf itself boosted by its electric variant accounting for 50.4% of its April sales, Volkswagen is sovereign in the brands ranking at 20.9% share and 2.667 units, more than double any other manufacturer. Toyota comes 2nd with a round 10% share above BMW, Volvo and Skoda all at 5.7%. Audi is up 3 spots on March to #6, Mercedes up 4 to #7, Mazda up 3 to #9, Subaru up 5 to #13 and Citroen up 6 to #15.

Below the Golf single-handedly holding 12.5% of the Norwegian market this month, the Toyota Auris leaps to 2nd place with 4% share ahead of the Skoda Octavia (3.6%) while the Mazda CX-5 is back up 15 spots on March to #4 and the VW Passat is up 8 ranks to #5 as is the Mitsubishi Outlander at #9. The Tesla Model S is back down 8 ranks to #10 with the new 4WD variant now accounting for 97% of its sales (!), the Mercedes B-Class is up 26 spots to #18, the Subaru Outback up a further 11 to #24 and the Citroen C4 Cactus up 42 to #34.
