With the usual one month-delay we now have access to detailed data for South Korea including imported vehicles. Mercedes jumps to the front of the foreign brand queue in January with 4,367 sales and 3.3% share due to a particularly strong showing of the E-Class at #22 but most impressively of the S-Class at #27 with 1,262 deliveries and 1% share vs. #53 and 0.3% over the Full Year 2014. The Audi A6 at #24 and the VW Passat at #29 (vs. #45 in 2014) are the only other foreigner to manage to crack the South Korean Top 30 this month.
The Peugeot 2008 lands in South Korea this month.
Audi is also one percentage point above its 2014 share at #7 with 2.7% above BMW and Volkswagen both at 2.3%. Ford, Lexus and Land Rover take advantage of a weak month from Mini to progress up to #11, #12 and #13 respectively. Finally, notice the Peugeot 2008 landing at #66 with 236 sales, the BMW X4 up to #83, the Jeep Cherokee at #96 and the Mercedes GLA at #101.
