After a one month-hiatus, Turkey is back on BSCB with an August-September combo article. Sales of new light vehicles (including LCVs) are slowing down their fall over the period: down 7% in August to 60.199 registrations and down 2% in September to 66.531 units, the strongest month of the year so far. This brings the year-to-date total to 473.498 sales, still down a harsh 19% on 2013. If Volkswagen remains the most popular manufacturer in the country year-to-date thanks to 71,561 sales and 15.7% share, an 11% drop in September brings Renault (13.2% share) and Ford (12.4%) above the German brand at a low 12.3%. Fiat ranks 4th with 11.6% of the market above Hyundai (6.6%), Toyota (5.2%) and Opel (4.7%).
Model-wise, a lot has changed since the last July update. The Fiat Linea, leader over the Full Year 2012 and 2013, is now also in pole position in the 2014 year-to-date thanks to 20,405 sales and 4.5%, overtaking the Renault Fluence at 19,166 units and 4%. A strong September score for the Linea at 3,385 units and 5.1% has helped cement this lead. The Ford Transit, now including Transit Cutsom figures, jumps up to 2nd place overall this month with 3,005 units and 4.5% share and is now #3 year-to-date at 14,881 sales and 3.1%. Other great performers in September include the Toyota Corolla back up 10 spots on August to #4, the Ford Courier up 5 to #6 vs. #16 year-to-date, the Dacia Dokker up 22 to #17 and the Citroen C-Elysée up 19 to #23.
