South Korea February 2014: Hyundai Grandeur keeps the lead

Sales of new local models are up 8% year-on-year in February in South Korea to 107,004 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 213,342 units, up 5% on 2013. The Hyundai Grandeur is the most popular vehicle in the country for the 2nd month in a row and the 5th time in the last 14 months thanks to 7,496 sales for a 7% market share. However this is only 10 units above the Hyundai Porter which continues its impressive run and remains #2 both this month and year-to-date.
The Kia Morning (aka Picanto) is back up one spot to #3 while the Hyundai Avante (aka Elantra), leader in 2013, is also up one rank to #4 with 6,479 sales and 6.1%, both passing the Hyundai Santa Fe down two spots to #5. The Chevrolet Spark is up 3 ranks to #7 as is the Kia K3 to #10, the Daewoo Damas is up one further spot to #11 whereas it only ranked #31 over the Full Year 2013! Finally, notice the Samsung QM5 (aka Renault Koleos) up 12 spots on January to #28. Note imports into South Korea are up 31% year-on-year in February to 13,852 units.
