The Ukrainian market is down 1% year-on-year in January to 11,874 registrations. The big event is the pole position of Chinese manufacturer Geely in the brands ranking thanks to sales up 33% on January 2013 to 1,503 units, potentially making Ukraine the only country in the world (including China!) where a Chinese carmaker tops the sales charts! Geely is followed this month by Toyota up a whopping 97% to 1,352 sales, local carmaker ZAZ up 19% to 920 units and Ford up 58% to 914 sales. Traditional leader Hyundai is down a harsh 43% on January 2013 to rank 7th this month, while Renault (+39%), Peugeot (+69%) and Mazda (+174%) all shine. Finally, notice Chinese MG breaking into the Top 30 this month at #26 with sales up 150% year-on-year.
