The Venezuelan new car market falls deeper into recession this month, down 51% year-on-year to just 5,912 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 95,919 units, down 22% on 2012. The Chevrolet Aveo reigns supreme like last month with 1,002 sales and 16.9% share, lifting its year-to-date share to 11.3% vs. 12.7% over the Full Year 2012. The Mitsubishi Lancer lodges another outstanding month at 631 units and 10.7%, reinforcing its #2 spot year-to-date at 8%. The Ford Fiesta is up 11 spots on October to round up the podium while the Toyota Land Cruiser is up a further two at #4 and the Chevrolet Silverado is also up 11 to #5. The Dodge Forza, a rebadged previous generation Fiat Siena produced locally, is down 3 ranks on last month to a still excellent 8th place with 202 sales and 3.4%. It is followed by the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, up from outside the Top 30 in October to break into the Venezuelan Top 10 for its 2nd month in market at #9 with 193 units and 3.3%.
