The Taiwanese new car market is up an outstanding 20% year-on-year in November to 34,702 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 339,451 units, up 2% on 2012. While the Toyota Corolla confirms it is back to its sovereign self thanks to the 11th generation of the model at 3,777 sales and 10.9% share, the big surprise is in 2nd place: for its first full month in market, the Nissan Sentra (named Super Sentra here), grabs an amazing 5.1% market share thanks to 1,765 units sold! It therefore bypasses both the Tiida (#5) and Livina (#7) to become the brand’s best-seller in the country, and single-handedly enables Nissan to pass Mitsubishi in the year-to-date ranking to place at #2 below only Toyota! The Toyota RAV4 also shines, back onto the podium at #3 with 1,576 sales and 4.6%, as do the Mazda5 up 9 spots to #13 and 1.9% share, the Mercedes E-Class up a further two to #16 and 1.5% vs. #24 year-to-date and the Mercedes S-Class up to #47.
