New car sales in New Caledonia, an overseas French territory located North-East of Australia, are down a harsh 20% year-on-year in November to 739 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 9,095 units, down 12% on 2012. The Ford Ranger stays well above the competition with 64 sales this month and 770 year-to-date for a 8.5% market share, while the Dacia Duster passes the Toyota Hilux to rank #2 in November but remains below it year-to-date at 468 units vs. 547. The only movement in the year-to-date ranking is the arrival of the Mitsubishi Montero among the archipelago’s 10 most popular models at #10 with 133 sales. Notice also the Toyota Yaris up to #6 this month and the Peugeot 301 up to #15 whereas it is not even on sale in metropolitan France.
