Bulgarian new car sales are up 2% to an estimated 2,119 registrations in October, bringing the year-to-date total to 19,901 sales, one unit below the total one year ago! Remember Bulgarian new car sales do not reflect the ‘real’ situation in the country as a large portion (rumoured to be as much as 30%) is re-exported to other European countries because Bulgaria is the place in the European Union where new car prices are the lowest. Dacia dominates the brands ranking this month thanks to 242 sales and 11.4%, ahead of Volkswagen at 223 and 10.5% and Toyota at 193 and 9.1%, with Volkswagen leading the year-to-date charts at 9.8% vs. 9.3% for Toyota and 9.2% for Dacia. Model-wise, we have another very volatile ranking with the Nissan Qashqai taking the lead this month with 120 sales and 5.7%, enabling it to pass the Kia Sportage year-to-date to also rank #2 at 3.1% share.
The Dacia Dokker is still #1 so far in Bulgaria in 2013.
The Dacia Dokker is back up 5 spots on September to #2 at 99 units and 4.7% and remains #1 so far in 2013 with 679 sales and 3.4%. The Dacia Sandero also shines, up 23 ranks on last month to #3 at 70 units and 3.3%, followed by the Skoda Octavia up 4 to 66 sales and 3.1%. Other great performers this month in Bulgaria include the Toyota Aygo up 23 spots to #10, Skoda Citigo up 40 to #14 and Dacia Logan sedan up 40 to #20. As for local manufacturer Great Wall, it places the Voleex C10 at #18 (+9), the Steed at #38 (+52) and the Hover H5 at 101 (+19).
Previous month: Bulgaria September 2013: Renault Clio IV and Captur on podium
