France 1-21 October 2013: Peugeot 2008 up to 5th place

3 weeks through October, the French new car market maintains itself at the same level as one year ago (+1%). If the Peugeot 208 holds onto the top spot for now with 4,144 sales (-20%) vs. 3,919 for the Renault Clio IV, there are some very interesting developments below. The Renault Scenic gains one spot compared to last week at #4 thanks to sales up 43% year-on-year, and while Renault sales are traditionally backloaded in the month, the Peugeot 2008 manages to pass its archenemy the Renault Captur, ranking #5 with 2,424 sales (and only 70 units off the 4th place!) vs. #8 and 2,252. It will be fascinating to discover in a few days which of these two ends the month as the winner. If the 2008 stays 5th it will be its very first month inside the Top 5 in France or any other country in the world for that matter…
