As Renault made public the worldwide sales of all its models I thought this should warrant a quick update on BSCB, before I can share with you the Top 250 best-sellers worldwide in around 4 weeks time. Renault sales are interesting in the fact that the Sandero and Logan are going through a generational transition as well as the Renault Clio and given split sales by generation are available we can follow these transitions month by month.
The cumulative total Sandero/Logan reaches new heights in May at 61,231 sales, adding up to 257,182 year-to-date. Within this figure, the Logan 2 more than double its sales compared to April, going from 3,695 to 8,075. The Sandero 2 also progresses from 11,180 to 13,290. The Renault Clio/Symbol is the second most popular model in the range at 37,813 units worldwide in May, an impressive 70% of it being the 4th generation.
As far as recent launches are concerned, the Renault Captur continues to gear up and becomes the carmaker’s 10th most popular model worldwide this month thanks to 5,601 sales, up from 2,909 in April and adding up to 9,834 so far in 2013. The Renault Zoe is up a timid 10% on April to 931 units at #17 while the Renault Twizy is up 30% on last month but down a horrid 76% year-on-year to 376 sales.
The 4 models shared with Samsung all see a very different split between Renault and Samsung-branded sales. The Samsung QM5/Renault Koleos generates only 12% of its worldwide sales from the Samsung brand and the Samsung SM3/Renault Fluence only 18%, whereas 79% of Samsung SM5/Renault Latitude are sold with the Samsung logo and the 97% of all Samsung SM7/Renault Talisman with the Talisman only finding 8 buyers worldwide this month…
