Including Light Commercial Vehicles, the Turkish market delivers its best month so far in 2013 in May at 81,468 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 307,647 units. The Fiat Linea celebrates 2 years since it first managed to rank #1 in Turkey (May 2011) and it celebrates in style: with 5,259 sales and 6.5% share it is almost twice as successful as the #2 car, reaches its best market share since November 2012 and its second best-ever monthly volume in Turkey below the 6,057 sales it clocked up in December 2011. In 2nd place the Ford Fiesta also shines, up 3 spots on April, hits its best ranking since last September and lodges its 5th time on the Turkish podium in the last 13 months.
A Turkish Fiat Linea just before the ‘taksi’ rite of passage…
The Ford Fiesta pushes both the Renault Fluence and Symbol down one spot to #3 and #4. In particular at 2,415 sales and 3%, the Renault Symbol delivers way less than half the sales of the Fiat Linea this month in spite of the new generation being now in full swing. Looks like the Symbol dominating days are not going to come back that soon after all. A very stable ranking otherwise, so let’s notice the progression of a few newcomers: the Mercedes CLA is up 107 spots to #56, the Renault Captur up 125 to #69 and the Fiat 500L lands directly in 86th position.
