Things are starting to get a little rosier for new car sales in Slovenia: after losing ground year-on-year for almost two years straight, the Slovenian new car market lodges its second consecutive month on year-on-year growth in May at +5% to 4,914 registrations. The year-to-date total is however still in negative at -4% and 22,384 units. The Renault Clio is in pole position for the 10th time in a row with 296 sales and 6%, ahead of the VW Golf at 257 units and 5.2% and the Kia Cee’d up 2 spots to an excellent third position with 228 sales and 4.6%. The Renault Scenic is up 2 to #4 at 3.7%, way above its 2013 YTD level of 2.4%.
The best performer this month is the all-new Renault Captur, landing directly in 15th place for its first full month in market at 71 units and 1.4%. This is the Captur’s second best ranking anywhere in the world below the #13 it reached in France this month. Other great performers include the Fiat 500 brilliantly maintaining itself inside the Slovenian Top 10 at #9 with 90 sales including 86 cabriolets, the BMW 3 Series up 17 ranks to #12, the Seat Leon up 13 to #18 and the Mini Countryman up to #28.
