Poland May 2013: Skoda Octavia back in charge

For the third time this year the Polish market loses ground year-on-year at -5% to 25,462 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 137,301 units, down 2% on 2012. After two months off, the Skoda Octavia is back in pole position with 894 sales and 3.5% share. However the Skoda Fabia, down to #2 in May, remains the most popular model in the country so far in 2013 at 5,201 units and 3.8% vs. 4,471 and 3.3% for the Octavia.
The VW Golf delivers an excellent month, up 2 spots on April to reach its best ranking since last September and only its third time on the Polish podium in 3 years at #3 with 804 sales and 3.2%, followed by the Toyota Yaris (+4) and the Ford Focus (+2). Other great performers this month include the Hyundai i30 up a further one spot to #11, the Ford Mondeo and Skoda Superb both up 15 to #14 and #18 respectively, the Hyundai i20 up 7 to #20 and the Mazda6 up from outside the Top 50 last month to #36. Finally, notice the Skoda Rapid down 5 ranks to #26.
