Traditionally weaker due to Lunar New Year celebrations, February new car sales in Taiwan are down 8% year-on-year to 20,816 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 62,815 or… 5 units above the 2012 tally at the same stage! Talk about a stable market… The Toyota Corolla is as strong as ever, if not stronger, grabbing a huge 12.8% market share thanks to 2,580 sales. Two additional Toyota models lodge an outstanding month: the Wish is up to #2 for the first time since last August at 1,192 units and 5.9% and the RAV4, boosted by the new generation, is up a further 3 spots to land on the third step of the podium with 1,033 sales and 5.1%, meaning it is now #5 year-to-date.

The Honda CR-V is down 3 ranks to #8 but still #6 year-to-date vs. #10 in 2012, the Ford Focus improves to 2.8% market share but drops 2 ranks to #10, the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy is up 27 spots to #13, the Lexus RX up 17 to #16, Lexus ES up 18 to #17, BMW X3 up to #26 and Mercedes B-Class up to #33.
