Another excellent month for new car sales in New Zealand: February is up 11% year-on-year to 7,946 registrations, including 2,146 commercial vehicles which is only the fourth time since 1981 sales exceeded 2,000 units in February. Previous times were 1982, 1984 and 2008… No surprise in pole position: the Toyota Corolla leads the way for the 6th consecutive month with 366 sales and 4.6%, ahead of the Toyota Hilux at 338 units and 4.3%, Ford Ranger with 298 sales and 3.8%, Suzuki Swift at 3.3% and Nissan Navara at 3%, making it 3 utes in the Top 5. Notice also the VW Golf up to a brilliant 7th spot, the Ford Territory up to #11, Mazda6 up to #13 and Holden Commodore down to #17… Finally, notice Nissan passing Holden to become #3 brand, just like in neighbouring Australia.
