Thanks to Roberto it looks like the Puerto Rican models ranking will now be a monthly fixture on BSCB! Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the Caribbean Sea. Puerto Rican new car sales are down an uncharacteristic 4% year-on-year in November to 8,994 registrations, however the year-to-date total is clearly in positive territory at 90,118 units, up 10% on 2011. The particularity of the Puerto Rican car landscape is the relative weakness of most American manufacturers with the exception of Ford and Jeep, and the strength of Japanese and Korean carmakers. The Toyota Corolla is #1 this month thanks to 679 sales and 7.5% but stays #2 year-to-date below its lil sis the Toyota Yaris, down to #2 in November at 660 units and 7.3%.

Nissan Sentra

Excellent month for the Jeep Wrangler, jumping onto the podium at #3 with 390 sales and 4.3% vs. 2.9% year-to-date, ahead of the Hyundai Accent and Nissan Versa both at 3.6% and the Mitsubishi Lancer at 3.1%. Thanks to the new model, the Nissan Sentra delivers an outstanding month, up 39 spots on September to #8 with 230 units and 2.6% vs. #26 and 1.1% year-to-date. Notice also the Ford Escape at #7, Toyota Tacoma at #9, Ford Focus at #10 and the Dodge Caravan at #24.
