Sales of new Light Commercial Vehicles are down 16% year-on-year in France in August to 19,234 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 257,252 units, down 7% on 2011. While the Renault Kangoo hangs on to its first position with 1,441 sales and 7.5% and therefore reinforcing its 2012 year-to-date leadership at 24,537 units and 9.5%, the Renault Clio is back up to 2nd place for the first time since last February with 1,356 sales and 7.1%. The big event this month is the arrival of the Peugeot 208 on the podium at #3, up 6 spots on July to 1,063 units and 5.5%.

The Citroen Berlingo is up 2 ranks to #4, followed by the Renault Master (-2), Peugeot Partner (-1) and Fiat Ducato (-5). Great performers this month in France include the Renault Twingo up 5 spots to #18, the VW Golf up 5 to #31, the Isuzu D-Max up 3 to #39, the Mitsubishi L200 up 9 to #40, the Ford Ranger up 10 to #42, the Citroen C1 up 35 to #54, the Seat Ibiza up 13 to #61 and the Mercedes ML-Class up 29 to #70.
