After exploring Private Sales in Germany and France, I am now able to share with you a Top 10 models ranking based on sales to private buyers for the Netherlands, and this for the first time on BSCB! The Dutch trend is clearly towards mini cars, with 6 of them ranking in the Private Sales Top 10 vs. 3 in the Passenger Cars ranking.
The Renault Twingo is the Dutch consumers’ favourite car over the first 6 months 2012 with 7,758 Private Sales, and a huge 87% PS ratio, the highest in the Top 10. The Twingo is #4 overall. The Peugeot 107 ranks #2 with 6,445 units and 65% while the VW Polo, #1 in the overall ranking, rounds up the podium with 6,089 sales and 50%.
The Kia Picanto is up to #4 thanks to a best-in-class 87% PS ratio, ahead of the Toyota Yaris (85%), Toyota Aygo (75%) and Kia Rio (67%). With the Citroen C1 at #8 and 3,422 units, the ‘Kolin sisters’ – the 107, Aygo and C1 all manufactured in Kolin in Czech Republic – add up to a mammoth 13,457 Private Sales.
