Japan April 2012 update: Toyota Aqua & Honda NBOX on top

Once again thanks to Austin Rutherford I can share with you the detail of Japanese models sales by variant, including Kei cars. And for the third month in a row the new Toyota Aqua is the best-selling bodystyle in the country with 18,481 units sold for its 4th month of activity in the country. New leader of the Kei cars ranking, the Honda NBOX is up 5 spots on March to land #2 overall with 16,928 sales.

The Daihatsu Tanto/Exe rounds up the podium at 13,486 units, followed by the Suzuki Wagon R, Honda Fit and Toyota Prius. Excellent month for the Suzuki Alto/Capin, up from #11 in March to #7 this month with 11,535 sales. Other great performers this month include the Nissan Moco up 10 spots to #13, the Suzuki Palette up 11 to #15, the Suzuki Carry up 17 to #17 and the Suzuki MR Wagon up 26 to #24. The Toyota 86 is #37 with 2,760 sales while its twin the Subaru BRZ is #80 at 515 units.
