The French car market seems to slow down its fall this week at just -1% year-on-year to 41,600 registrations. Citroen starts the month with a bang and leads the brands ranking with 8,138 sales and a huge 19.6% share, up 35% year-on-year, with Peugeot (+31%) and Renault (-21%) following. Notice Audi up to a fantastic third ‘foreigners’ place behind Volkswagen and Ford…

Citroen C4

The Citroen C3 leads the weekly French ranking for the first time since last August with 1,808 sales and 4.3%, up 48%. The 2nd place is a surprise: in runout mode, the Peugeot 207 is up 45% year-on-year to 1,741 units and 4.2% while the 208 (momentarily) disappears after breaking into the Top 10 for the first time at the end of March.

Citroen DS3

There are two Citroens on the podium with the C4 landing at an exceptional #3 spot with 1,433 sales and 3.4%, up 25% and by far the highest weekly ranking reached by this generation of the model, and possibly since the nameplate’s original launch in 2004. The Peugeot 3008 is up to #5 while two models reappear in the weekly Top 10: the Dacia Duster for the first time since January at #8 and the Citroen DS3 for the first time since May 2011 at #10.
