Like in January, car sales in Norway are up 4% in February at 10,925 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 21,763 units. Up from a shy 12th place last month, the Toyota Avensis takes the lead of the Norwegian market for the first time since January 2009 with 423 sales and 3.9% share, followed by the VW Golf at 3.5% and the VW Tiguan, on the podium for the third time in the last 5 months at 314 units and 2.9%.
The Toyota Yaris continues on its new generation-fuelled good run in 4th place with 309 sales while the Skoda Octavia and Toyota Auris make their reappearance in the Top 10. Norway’s unique characteristic is the extraordinary success of the Nissan Leaf there. Improving on an already amazing month of January (#13), it is up to #11 this month with 214 sales and 2% share, and its regularity on top in this start of 2012 earns it a fantastic 9th position in the year-to-date ranking!
Thanks to Alexander I can now share with you more detail about the Norwegian models ranking. The biggest performer further down is without a doubt the Subaru XV, up a massive 37 spots for only its 2nd month of sales to reach an outstanding 14th place with 192 units and 1.8%!
