Netherlands February 2012: Peugeot 107 in command

Car sales in the Netherlands are down 10% year-on-year in February at 44,129 registrations, bringing the 2012 year-to-date total to 114,322 units, down 8%. In the process of being facelifted, the Peugeot 107 takes command of the models ranking for the first time since last June and for the third time in the last 10 months with 1,605 sales and 3.6%. It is followed this month by the Renault Twingo at 1,537 units and the VW Polo with 1,533 sales, both at 3.5% share while the Polo keeps the lead year-to-date at 4,772 units and 4.2%.
Excellent performance of the Ford Focus, #4 both in February (3%) and year-to-date (2.7%). The Ford Ka is down 3 spots on January to #5 but #3 ytd, whereas the Citroen C1 is up 11 ranks to #6 and the Opel Corsa up 25 ranks to #7. Other great performers this month include the Fiat Panda up 38 spots to #10 and the VW Up! up 77 ranks to #36 with 377 sales. The Mazda CX-5 begins its career with a bang: it sells 159 units for its very first month to rank #73.
