Finland February 2012: Toyota Avensis crowned

The new car market in Finland is in great shape: up 14% year-on-year in February to 10,532 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 24,695 units, up 8%. Already #1 in Norway, the Toyota Avensis has an outstanding scandinavian month and tops the Finnish models ranking as well with 571 sales and 5.4% share. It’s the second time in 5 months (after last October) that the Avensis is leader in Finland.

2011’s leader, the Skoda Octavia, is up one spot on January to #2 this month at 527 units and 5%, ahead of the Nissan Qashqai, #1 last month, with 483 sales and 4.6%. Year-to-date, the Avensis leads followed by the Qashqai and Octavia. The VW Golf and Toyota Yaris exchange positions vs. January while the Ford Focus stays 6th.

Other great performers this year include the Honda CR-V in runout mode, up 25 spots on January to a fantastic 7th place, the Kia Rio up to #14, Toyota Verso up to #17 and Mitsubishi ASX up to #22.
