Ireland September 2011: Megane #1, Range Rover Evoque shines

The Irish car market is struggling at the moment, down 36% year-on-year in September with 2,699 registrations. The year-to-date total is still up 5% however at 86,259 units. For the first time this year, the Renault Megane takes the lead of the Irish models ranking with 178 sales and 6.6% share, head and shoulders above the competition with the VW Passat #2 at 145 units and 5.4%.
The Ford Focus ranks 3rd with 127 sales and 4.5% and is still #1 year-to-date at 4,125 units and 4.8%. Other strong performers in the Top 10 this month are the Renault Clio at #4, the Opel Insignia at #6 and the Toyota Yaris at #8. Notice the Hyundai i40 at #18, the Range Rover Evoque for the first time in the Irish Top 50 directly to #29 and the Jaguar XF at #46 with 13 sales.
