The Norwegian car market is back on track in August, up 10% year-on-year at 11,464 registrations and at +9% year-to-date at 91,158 units. The VW Golf lodges a very solid month with 668 sales and 5.8% share, reinforcing its 2011 leadership (5.3% share year-to-date).

The new generation Ford Focus excels, up 3 spots on July to a brilliant 2nd place at 520 units and 4.5% share. It goes up two spots in the year-to-date ranking to #5 with 2,540 sales and 2.8%. The VW Passat rounds up the podium at 406 units and 3.5%. For the first time since March this year, the Mitsubishi ASX is not in the Norwegian Top 3, down to 4th place this month with 338 sales and 2.9%. It is however still #2 year-to-date at 3,157 units and 3.5%.

Exceptional performance of the Hyundai i40: it ranks 5th for its first full month of sales with 323 units and 2.8% share, Norway being by far its best performing country in the world so far. It’s a good month for the VW Polo (#5), Skoda Octavia (#6) and VW Tiguan (#12).
