At 38,601 registrations, July is the second biggest month of the year so far in Taiwan after January. Toyota returns to its traditional domination, holding no less than 1/3 of the Taiwanese market at 13,087 sales. The Corolla catches up on a backlog of lost sales due to the Japan earthquake disruption and delivers a 12.3% market share, its best in a couple of years, and 4,759 units.
The Nissan Tiida stays solid in 2nd place with 5.1%, followed by the Toyota Yaris (4.6%), Wish (4.5%) and Nissan Livina (4.1%) which is holding onto its 3rd position year-to-date. At #7 and 3.3% share, the Mitsubishi Colt Plus is still well ahead of its 2011 overall level.
Note the return of the Mitsubishi Delica into the Taiwanese models ranking at #16 with 579 sales (1.6%) and the first appearance of the Nissan Rogue in the Top 30 at #29 with 366 sales and 0.9%.
