Austria June 2011: VW Sharan and Audi A1 shine

The Austrian car market is down 3% in May at 32,018 registrations but still up 11% year-to-date at 187,583 units. No surprises on top: the VW Golf leads the way with 1,238 sales and 3.9% ahead of the VW Polo at 1,091 units and 3.4%. VW monopolises the podium this month with the VW Sharan at #3 with 670 sales and 2.1%, up 8 spots.
The Seat Ibiza and Opel Meriva stay very solid in 4th and 5th place respectively, while the Ford Focus continues to progress, up 2 spots to #7 this month. The VW Tiguan is back to a more familiar 13th spot thanks to the new generation and the Audi A1 delivers its best position ever in Austria at #23 with 381 sales and 1.2%, up 24 spots on May.
A couple of new models make their first appearance in the Austrian ranking: the Fiat Freemont lands directly at #94 for its first month of sales at 94 units and the Citroen DS4 ranks #101 with 81 sales.
