Romania 2007: Dacia Logan’s volume stable, share down to 30%
The Romanian car market goes from strength to strength, up 23% this year at 315,621 registrations. With the entrance of the country in the European Union, imports are taking a larger share of sales: from 51% in 2007 to over 60% this year. In this context, the Dacia Logan manages to only drop 1% at 94,949 sales, but sees its market share go down to a more realistic 30.1%.
The Renault Clio stays 2nd and grows with the market at 16,183 sales (+22%) and 5.1% share, followed by the Skoda Octavia at 14,453 units (+19%) and 4.6% share. Very strong performances of the Renault Megane in 4th (+73%), Opel Astra Classic in 5th (+56%) and Chevrolet Aveo in 6th (+83%).
