Ireland 2000: Fiat Punto 3peats at #1, Daewoo in Top 10

The Fiat Punto is #1 in Ireland for the third straight year.

The Irish new car market stuns in 2000 with a stratospheric 32.5% year-on-year gain lifting the annual volume way above the 200.000 mark for the first time in history at 230.804. Toyota (+33.8%) is back above Ford (+29.6%) as the #1 brand, ahead of VW-Audi (+37.4%), Nissan (+46.1%) and Opel (+20.8%). Only in its 2nd full year in market, Daewoo (+69.7%) breaks into the Top 10 brands just as Hyundai (+64.5%), Seat (+59.7%), Renault (+54%) and Fiat (+38.5%) also frankly outpace the market. The Fiat Punto 3peats at #1 with a 39.8% surge to 11.065 units and 4.9% share.
