USA 1991: Honda Accord ever closer to overall pole position

The Honda Accord leads the Passenger Cars ranking for the third year in a row with 399,297 sales, ahead of the Ford Taurus at 299,659 units. The Accord has never been so close to the all vehicles pole position, with the Ford F-Series celebrates its 10th year atop the overall ranking but with sales down 13% to 434,644 units and the Chevrolet C/K Pick-up also down 13% in 2nd place with 404,763 sales.
The Toyota Camry breaks into the annual US Top 5 for the very first time thanks to sales down ‘only’ 7% to 263,818 units, making it two Japanese models inside the Top 5 for the first time in history. The Ford Explorer takes off: up 57% and 14 spots on 1990 to #7 with 250,059 units for its first full year in market, the Dodge Caravan is up 5% to #12 and the Saturn S-Series up 3860% and 162 ranks to #56 with 74,493 sales for its first full year.
