If car sales in Norway slow their progression in 1959 at just +2% to 18,979 registrations, it shoots up again in 1960 at +66% to 31,482 units. Interrupted by the Volvo 444/445/544 in 1957 and 1958, the VW Beetle resumes its leadership of the Norwegian market and even reaches its highest ever share in the country over the period: it sells 4,082 units in 1959 for a 21.5% share and 7,059 in 1960 for a record 22.4% share…
The Volvo 444/445/544 is down to #2 in 1959 at 11.7% and to #5 in 1960 at 5.2%, replaced in the 2nd spot by the Ford Anglia with 3,693 sales and a brilliant 11.7% share.
Skoda is up 62% to #3 in 1959 but falls back to #6 in 1960, passed by the Opel Olympia/Rekord and Renault Dauphine while Moskvich ranks #7 in 1959 and #9 in 1960.
