Lebanon November 2017: Kia Rio leads, Datsun shines
The Kia Rio is the best-selling vehicle in Lebanon in November.

The Lebanese new car market is down a harsh 21% year-on-year in November to 3.001 sales but the year-to-date volume remains n positive for now at +1.7% to 46.623 units. Hyundai is the surprise leader in the brands ranking this mont thanks to sales more than doubling year-on-year at +115% to 21.7% share, distancing Kia down 0.3% to 19.9%, Nissan down 43% to 11.6%, Toyota imploding down 70% to 8.6% share vs. 33.1% year-to-date as most of its nameplates had a month off and Renault down 46% to 5%. Reversely, Chevrolet gains 41% to #6, Datsun is up to #8 with 3.4% share vs. 1.8% year-to-date and Mazda is up 11% to 2.8%. Land Rover is up 7-fold to #11 vs. #16 YTD, Jaguar is up 300%, GMC up 48%, Isuzu up 32% and Peugeot up 20%.
The on-DO is one of two Datsun nameplates inside the Lebanese Top 20 this month.
Model-wise, the Kia Rio takes the lead thanks to sales up 51% year-on-year, distancing the Kia Picanto (-1%), Hyundai i10 (+91%), Hyundai Accent (+89%) and Toyota Corolla (+178%). The Hyundai i20 is up 25-fold at #7 and the Hyundai Elantra up 10-fold at #10. There are no less than five recent launches (<12 months) inside the Top 20: the Nissan Kicks (#13), Toyota C-HR (#14), Range Rover Velar (#15), Datsun on-Do (#16) and mi-Do (#19).
