The Swedish new car market continues at record pace in April with sales up 10% despite one less opening day to 33.580 units, the second best April score of all times and the 27th consecutive month of year-on-year gains.  This leads to a year-to-date total also up 10% to 116.809. Home grown carmaker Volvo manages to outpace its own market with sales up 12% to 6.779 and 20.2% share, distancing Volkswagen (-2%), Audi (+13%) and BMW (+11%), Below, Toyota (+16%), Renault (+18%), Kia (+22%), Mercedes (+23%), Peugeot (+34%) and Fiat (+35%) all beat the market to post higher shares. Further down, Seat (+76%) and Mazda (+96%) shine. Model-wise, below traditional leaders the Volvo V70 and VW Golf, the Volvo S/V60 overtakes the VW Passat to jump on the podium while the V40 and XC60 make it four Volvos in the Top 6. The Fiat Ducato is boosted by pre-summer campervan deliveries (#7), the Mercedes E-Class is up to #15, the Renault Kadjar up to #30 and the VW Up up to #37.
