Portugal April 2016: End of 34 consecutive months of double-digit gains
Renault Captur sales are up 88% year-on-year in Portugal in April.

Portugal ends an incredible run of 34 consecutive months of double-digit gains in April with new car sales up just 6% to 15.978 units. The year-to-date total however still displays a very dynamic 21% year-on-year improvement at 74.404 deliveries. Renault cements its domination of the brands ranking by outpacing the market at +11% to 11.8% share above Volkswagen and Peugeot, both down 4%. Renault places the Clio (-13%) in the lead and the Captur (+88%) in third position in the models ranking. BMW and Mercedes are up 13% at #4 and #5 respectively, followed by Opel up 12% to #6. Other great performers include Nissan up 54%, Seat up 26%, Mini up 67%, Hyundai up 110%, Honda up 64% and Mazda up 67%. Jaguar is up 194% thanks to the XE and F-Pace. Model-wise, let’s notice the VW Polo up 25% to 2nd place overall, the Seat Ibiza up 38% to #6, the Mercedes A-Class at #7 and the Toyota Auris up 126% to #14.
