Netherlands January 2014: VW Golf #1, Renault Captur in Top 10

New car sales in the Netherlands are down 7% year-on-year in January to 44,568 registrations. Volkswagen takes off to 14.7% share this month compared to 12% over the Full Year 2013, thanks to 6,539 sales which is almost double the amount of the #2, Renault at 3,469 and 7.8% with Peugeot breathing on its neck at 3,438 units and 7.7%. Outstanding performance of Kia up 9 spots on December to a splendid 4th position with 3,126 sales and 7%. Now that the preferrential pricing on the Outlander PHEV is over, Mitsubishi crumbles from #1 and 12.7% in December to #20 and 1.2% this month and the Outlander from #1 to #108!
Model-wise, the VW Golf starts off the year extremely well at #1 with 2,636 sales and 5.9% while the Up, leader over the Full Year 2013, ranks third with 1,714 units and 3.8%. Renault places the Clio at a splendid 2nd place thanks to 1,816 sales and 4.1% and the Captur at a record-breaking 8th position at 1,087 units and 2.4%… Other great performers this month in the Netherlands include the Fiat 500 up 12 spots on December to #10, the Hyundai i10 up 30 to #14, Suzuki Alto up 16 to #18, Citroen C4 Picasso up 34 to #21, Peugeot 2008 up 19 to #23, Peugeot 308 up 18 to #30 vs. #83 over the Full Year 2013, the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross up 34 to #32 and the BMW 3 Series GT up 60 to #65.
