New car sales in Israel are down 3% year-on-year in September to 11,734 registrations, however the year-to-date total remains in positive at 164,712 units, up 3% on 2012. Now that the new generation is well established in this market, the Toyota Corolla confirms the top spot it grabbed last month by selling another 967 units for a 8.2% market share, almost double the sales of the #2, the Kia Picanto at 502 and 4.3%. The Corolla is up 2 spots year-to-date to #5 and will finish the year on the podium if it continues at that rate. The 2013 leader, the Ford Focus, is back up to a still very shy #9 this month. A lot of movement in the models rankings, starting with the Suzuki Alto up 37 spots on August to land on the third step of the podium thanks to 321 sales and 2.7%.
