New car sales are up a modest 4% year-on-year in August to 79,409 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 793,808 units, up 11% and still well on track for another record year. Only a brands ranking is available for now, I will update this article when models data pops up. No surprises in pole position: Toyota remains king by very far at 24,895 sales and 34.1% but it's Suzuki that we find once again in 2nd place at 12,006 units and 15.1%, boosted by the success of the Eriga and above Daihatsu (14.7%) and Mitsubishi (13.2%) but still #3 year-to-date at 13.1% vs. 14.6% for Daihatsu.

Previous month: Indonesia July 2013: Chevrolet Spin up to #13 in record month

One year ago: Indonesia August 2012: Nissan Evalia up to #6
