Poland August 2013: Toyota Auris best-seller for the first time!
The Toyota Auris tops the Polish sales charts for the first time ever this month.

New car sales in Poland are up 5% to 21,632 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 215,054 units, up 2% on 2012. After the Toyota Yaris brilliantly took the lead of the Polish sales charts last March for the first time in 5 years, it’s the turn of the Toyota Auris to have this honour this month, for the first time ever, in the 6-year existence of the nameplate. And it’s not just a victory, it’s a triumph: with 867 sales and 4% share, the Auris is over one percentage point above any other model in the market this month! It smashes its previous bests of #3 and 2.8% share last March, with this month being its 2nd best-ever monthly volume below the 978 units it sold in April 2008. Add this to the #1 spot it holds in Finland and its best-ever #31 spot in France, we are starting to see a clear trend for European Auris salesthis month, boosted by the new Sports Tourer hybrid variants.
The Renault Captur breaks into the Polish Top 50, directly at #26.
In other news, the Skoda Octavia remains #2 at 632 units and 2.9%, this time clearly beating its lil sis the Skoda Fabia down to #5 with a paltry 536 sales and 2.5%, however the Fabia stays in pole position year-to-date thanks to 7,809 units sold so far vs. 7,058 for the Octavia. The VW Golf keeps a robust third place at 2.7% share, above the Ford Focus up 3 ranks to #4. The Fiat Ducato and Renault Clio are both up 7 spots to #6 and #7, the VW Up is up a further 2 to #15 vs. #36 year-to-date, the Dacia Sandero is up 15 to #21 vs. #44 YTD, the Renault Captur lands directly at an excellent #26 with 1% share, the Mazda6 ranks #38, the Dacia Lodgy is up to #40 and the Ford B-Max breaks into the Polish Top 50 for the first time at #50.
